Aunt Mallory walking home after she and Thomas were forced to abandon their car and walk homeOur house dodged the bullet except for a little water on the carpet that trickled out of leaky(unbeknownst to us) downstairs window. Good thing we're getting new windows in a few weeks! Many others were not so lucky.
The three of us spent the day at Suzanne's yesterday. Needless to say, it was an adventure! We spent half the morning trying to contain the water pouring into her kitchen. Davis and Reese were hilarious commentating through it all-"Oh gosh", "Flooding", "Mess", "Thunder". Wish I had video of the whole ordeal and the class 3 rapid river crashing through her front yard. At one point, her street looked like the Chattahoochee after the sewer system began to overflow.
My parents spent a good bit of their day suctioning water out of their basement carpet. They got some incredible pics of the flood waters in the neighborhood. And my brother Thomas had to abandon his car in the flood waters off Columns Drive. Thankfully, he found the car this morning, and it was in good shape. Good thing because he and Mallory leave for Minnesota one week from today.

What a terrible rain storm !!! I can't remember ever having that much rain in such a short time. Glad your house missed most of the damage. Hope you weren't riding around in the downpour to get the videos -- they were good. I can hear Davis talking about all the problems of the rain !

SOO crazy, isn't it?! Glad everyone in your family is okay, but sorry to hear about all the damage. We managed to escape the worst of it.
