Davis is 7 months old today! So what are we doing now...
We're eating lots of fruits and veggies. He doesn't really seem to have a favorite...its all yummy! Apples mixed with blueberries for the first time this morning. I've tried them all...my least favorite-green peas and carrots. Yuck. We retried the sippy cup last week and he took his first few sips of water! Yeah! He's not real sure what to do with it, and blows on the sprout. We'll keep practicing. I guess he's just getting ready for blowing bubbles in the pool :) He's rocking back and forth on his hands and knees and rolling everywhere. Matt lowered his crib last night, so he can't work his way out. He also gets himself in a push up position and pushes his little booty up in the air. He gives me a high 5...or just tries to touch my hand but we'll say its a high 5. And diaper changes have turned into wrestling matches. Goodness gracious. We put him on his back, and he immediately wants to flip over. He's growing up so fast! Each month bring so many new experiences. Love it!
I worked all weekend. Saturday was horrible but yesterday was much better. Thank goodness for that right? Such a sad story, but here's a snippet. 9:30 am-our resus team is called down to the OR for 24 weekers STAT. We admit the sicker of the two("B") in our pod. Both babies coded downstairs. Our baby required extensive resuscitation for a good 10 minutes. So needless to say, baby "B" is very sick. To top that off, several OBs are trying to save the mom's life. You know when you hear a page for any surgeon in house STAT to the OR that things are not good. She's losing blood...fast. Don't worry, Dad is not in the room. We're busy all day trying to keep baby "B" alive. Baby "A" is fighting to stay alive in another pod. Mom makes it out of the OR. Turns out her spleen ruptured. She's hanging on in the ICU. And we have 5 other babies in the room who need us as well(3 RNs in the pod). Tired yet? Its a zoo. I tried to tell the screaming-full term-I-want-off-CPAP-want-to-eat-baby that he was not priority right now..yeah that didn't work. Long story short...Mom survives and is in the ICU, but both twins pass away within 2min of each other on night shift. So sad... Hug your little one or big one tonight. This family doesn't have that opportunity.

Thanks for a little perspective on why I should NOT be complaining about being almost 29 weeks pregnant.
Wow. So sad. Poor family. Tough job you have, Lauren.
A hearbreaker. Yes, love our children.
I know you are physically and emotionally exhausted after this past weekend. Happy 7 month old birthday to Davis! He's growing and changing before our eyes. We can't wait to see him again soon!
Lauren,
On a happy note, try putting ice cubes in Davis' sippy cup. Brice loved the noise and was much more interested in trying it out! Good luck!
Oh my gosh. I can't believe he i crawling. Boy, those legs were moving.
